Arcade!!!!!

Arcade? what springs to mind when you hear the name? to me its shoots through my mind the words: Fun, Bliss, Shopping and Awesomeness.
Practically all of the above and much, much more if you have never been to the Arcade Event you are totally missing out on something very special.
Select Designers that participate create some amazing works and choose either 1 or several items that are deemed as rare which means: they cant be bought anywhere else.

The unique thing about Arcade is everything you purchase is a lucky chance so you can end up spending heaps trust me its addictive kinda like Gatcha.

Set For Sexy Grunge!!

Grunge its an usual term to some like me :) its not something I would normally gravitate towards, and even though this post is not an entire grunge style It's still leaning more towards it in a sexy way.

Close friend Blackliquid just brought out some fabulous nails and eyelashes called blackLiquid LASH - Monodic eye art & blackLiquid NAIL CLAW - Monodic 

I couldn't resist and immediately went to putting together this outfit and photo shoot.
Of course its different and a little far out but that is exactly what I wanted to portray I hope you enjoy it as much as I did doing it .

Ok So this will be a very random post!! lol the do after all call me the Queen Of Random: I was thinking as I do and well thought to myself quietly, I have alot of friends in sl who are in different professions well seeing as its easy to get caught up in the model world and not notice what is going on around you well i thought the best way would be to hear the opinions of others :)

Some care about the sl model world while others go about their business doing other things like building, designing, making friends going to clubs i think i have been all of the above and well thought it would be fun to see your thoughts :)

Script usage

I recently did a post on ARC ( Avatar Rendering Cost) and one of the comments was they were curious to find out what scripts or how many scripts each hair I posted about had in them.
So I set about finding out and have posted the photos below you can see the script count for each hair is the last object in the list.

No I use Firestorm so I will Explain here how you can find out the script usuage for yourself.

1) Go up to World
2) select parcel details
3) Bottom left hand corner clock the script info
4) Then select Avatar

This is the way I have obtained the details in the photos below you can also simply: right click the object your wearing and choose more then script info and on the bottom of your screen in yellow writing it will tell you your script usage.

A big thing to remember when checking your scripts also is most hairs now have an option to delete the script after you adjust them so if your hair has that option definitely make a copy adjust it and delete the scripts. Same as for shoes and so on.

So to sum up my quick Blog about hair scripts really unless they are combined with alot of other scripts most don't have anything but they still obviously contribute to lag on any sim as does ARC.

However it is always interesting to know what your script usage is.

ARC

I used to years ago always watch my arc ( Avatar Rendering Cost). And recently I haven't I guess because I don't go many places and had not been modelling until recently again the reason I wanted to bring up this topic is because a few months back when I was asked to design for a runway show some of the models contacted me about the styling and I spoke about ARC and only 1 out of 4 new what this meant so hence this prompted me to write something about it. Also I know I wondered around sl for years not ever knowing what it meant till I researched it and I always wished someone else had told me so I thought I'd share.


No please don't follow me word for word because Iam not an expert and certainly do not know everything lol.

But I did want to blog a little about what exactly ARC is:

Well to a model and the runway ARC can be a killer same as scripts and such how the best way to check what your ARC is of course I use firestorm so I will explain using that viewer.

1) Go to Avatar
2) Select Avatar Health
3) Show render weight for avatars (replacement for ARC)

you will then notice above your head numbers and any avatars around you there is a set of numbers usually shown in colour form, red being high, yellow mid range and green good, now no one is ever green not nowadays anyway hehe.

 But the best way to find out if your in red what is bringing you up is to take everything off so you go back to 0 and then put on one item at a time and you will soon see what your ARC is coming from, mostly hair and shoes and scripted items and most are unavoidable however there are a number that are huge compared to others and for a model before styling or heading onto a runway you should always check your ARC and try to style as best as you can to keep it low so as not to create more lag for yourself.


Now Don't get me wrong there is always huge different reasons why you might lag Im just trying to explain one form. Also I wanted to copy this here for you to read it can also be found on the Firestorm/Phoenix Wiki.

Why am I so Laggy?

And that is indeed a million dollar question! Lag is pervasive in SL, and there is no such thing as a “lag free SIM” - except one that is completely empty.
Before this can be answered, it is first vital to understand what lag is exactly, so please refer to http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/lag for an explanation of the 3 forms of lag.
If you find yourself being badly lagged, there are things you can do to reduce the effects of two of the three types: client and network. You can only reduce server side lag if you own or rent the parcel or region being affected by it.

Lag - What Is It?

People use the term a great deal, but usually without really understanding what it means, what causes it or how to deal with it. Some of the things suggested to reduce lag have little or no effect.
First of, “lag” is a catch-all word that actually covers 3 very different things, and it is important to distinguish between them. Most lag reduction methods only deal with one of these 3 aspects.
You can use the http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/floater_lagmeter to help determine which of these three is affecting you the most. More detailed information is available in the http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/statistics, which may be accessed by pressing Shift-Ctrl-1.

Now Just for a bit of fun I Have taken some photo's for you below showing you exactly what certain hairs added what arc for me don't take this as a given you will have to check yours separately but I was curious and wanted to blog them. Of course please bare in mind the best designs mostly always carry the most ARC because of the detail but just for curiosity sake.: I havent edited any of these pic either they are all straight from SL.

So as you can see there is a difference in each please remember in these photos iam wearing nothing accept the hair just to give you an idea of course once you start to add clothing the arc gets higher but obviously the best way to learn how to keep your ARC down expecially for a runway is to start with your hair.

Summer Bikini

I decided my Latest Post should be in a summer bikini why because I've never done one.

Plus I couldn't resist when I stumbled across these awesome swimmers on marketplace. For only 150 Linden how could I resist.

Neo Baroque

Neo-Baroque: A comeback from the Eighties

An Artisitic Movement of the eighties, which returns on the catwalks in a  riot of prints and gold tooling. A link between yesterday and today.

Recently I attended Avenue and one of my Styling Homework Challenges was Neo- Baroque I was both stumped and excited to be doing this style and also a little lost so I went in search of what neo-baroque actually meant and in the end I came up with the below image.

I hope you enjoy as much as I did. Its not a normal style you see everyday so I found this a beautiful thing. To Shape Or Not To Shape!!

I seen a little while ago another blogger posting about there shape alterations and getting others opinions I love this idea so much I decided to do something similar.

even though this would be scary but also rewarding to see how other people see your sense of style I have had my custom shape and skin for almost a year now and as part of attending Avenue to complete a model course we had to learn to make our shape unique to stand out a little more I decided to go the whole Nine Yards! and change not only my shape alot but also my skin I of course love it, it took me ages lol but personally I really wanna know your opinion let me know what you think which shape and skin you prefer below by  taking my poll.Click the link at the bottom of the photo's.

Great Locations in SecondLife

I recently developed a new passion for learning photography! and learning what a great graphics card can do to your sl experience and now i so want to upgrade lol anyways I really love looking at other blogs about awesome raw sl photos in lovely places and decided i wanted to do a little myself just to learn more with photography and so i wanted to share with you this lovely location I discovered Called armenelos there is a beautiful little Cafe their and a lovely Mediterranean feel. Here are some photos i took whilst visiting there you can click the links and it will take you straight there a must see i believe. Also make sure when you are there turn your perferences to ultra just for a sec and you will see the huge difference its makes to your viewing experience. However it lags you and you would only do this for that one perfect shot :D
